Last week, Dan and Sherry Wherry spoke to us about the district's work to prevent human trafficking. The district is partnering with the Coalition on Human Trafficking from Omaha along with other clubs in the district to train Rotarians who will then train Hotel staff on what to look for to prevent human trafficking. They shared statistics on how far-reaching human and sex trafficking is. Their goal is to train every hotel in the district so they can be aware of the signs. According to them, the traffickers have looked at the Coalition's website to see which hotels have been trained so they do not go there!
If you're interested in being a trainer, please let me know! There are two sessions left: York on Oct. 13 from 10am-2pm and Lincoln on Oct. 27th from 3-7 pm.

There will not be a meeting this week, but we have volunteered to help run the information booth at the Pumpkin Festival on Sunday. An email with the signup sheet will be going out shortly.
