Dr Tony Davidson from the RC of Sea Point, has for the last number of years, run a programme that analyses data on the work of Rotarians across our region. The motivation for the analysis was a desire that Rotarians, our partners and the community at large should see meaningful data on the impact our volunteerism has.

The campaign to motivate Rotarians is called “From information to inspiration.”
All clubs of D9350 did indeed make a difference, but how much of a difference? How many people are deployed? What value does each Rotarian bring a project?
Tony had a good sense of what he was looking for, and a sense that the numbers would reflect positively. He states that his estimates were far lower than the real figures estimates.
For example:
Each Rotarian brings volunteer value to a project of close to R50,000.
The Clubs in our region spent R32 million on projects in the last Rotary year.
The highest sector spend was R 9 million on Early Childhood Education. (Contrast this with the spend and it is a whopping 28%).
There were 70,000 project beneficiaries.
