“Serve and Change Lives”…..these four words could not represent Rotary better and Rotary International President Shekhar Mehta could not have chosen a better Theme for 2021-22.
In fact, the day that President Shekhar announced his theme at International Assembly, I teared up and said “This is my year to be Governor!”.  Service has always been in my heart, having been raised by two parents that gave to their community all of their lives.  So when I heard the theme, I knew District 5870 would have a very successful year because we are all about Service.

I am thrilled to say that your District Leadership has been working hard over the past nine months and are prepared to help energize and reconnect the clubs after a long 16 months of near lock down.  Please turn to them and utilize them and their knowledge.  The District Directory is included in this Newsletter, so take a few minutes to see who your leaders are as well as some new positions that have been added to the District…. and take advantage of them.  Because of the new positions, our club meetings, social events and projects now have the opportunity to be even more INFORMATIVE, FUN, AND IMPACTFUL.  Call on these new District Leaders…..that is why they volunteered.

In closing, our District has a very exciting year ahead, with Service Projects projected throughout the 23 counties it encompasses as well as a Global Grant supporting a Navajo Tribe with clean water in the Dilkon area of Arizona.  I look so forward to meeting each and every one of you and sharing my passion for Rotary.  District 5870….get your Rotary Shirts on, roll up your sleeves and let’s get started to SERVE TO CHANGE LIVES.

See you soon,

Beverly
