Last month, The Rotary Club of Cedar Park-Leander completed their DAP project.  They chose to support local literacy by helping a Title 1 school in their district by purchasing and distributing books.  Once the books arrived, they sorted them by grade level and put stickers inside indicating they were gifts from the Rotary Club.
The Rotary Club participated in the school’s STEAM night (23 Jan 2020) and ensured that each student left with at least 2 books they could keep.  For many children this was the first book they ever owned.  Special thanks to Sandy Liptak - the school's librarian who facilitated our involvement.
This is a wonderful example of Rotarians embracing literacy and reaching out to the community to make a difference.
