The North by Northeast Rotary Club conducted its annual Rise Against Hunger Service Project this past Saturday, November 16 at Casa Chapala Mexican restaurant located at 9041 Research Blvd #100, Austin, TX 78758. 
The Rise Against Hunger truck arrived at 12:30 pm and members from the NXNE Rotary Club unloaded the truck and set up the room to assemble 10,000 meals.  In preparation for the event, Rotarians placed labels on packaging bags, assemble boxes with labels, set up 3 food scooping stations, 8 weighing stations, 8 bag sealing stations, and a boxing station for bags of food.
 
Our assembly line production began at 1:30 and ended approximately 2 hours later at 3:30.  We had 46 participants consisting of 21 NXNE Rotarians, 2 Marble Falls Rotarians, 2 Cedar Park Rotarians, 2 Saltillo Mexico Rotarians, 2 NW Austin Rotarians, 1 Westlake Rotarian, 10 guests, 3 Boy Scouts, and 2 Foreign Exchange Students. 
 
The efforts of the Rotarians and guest resulted in packaging 10,152 meals!!  These meals will be shipped to a needy community in Africa.
