Come to Greenwich this June to be inspired and meet your District 7820 Rotary friends and family at the 2017 District Conference.  We have over 40 delegates registered now, and the Inn has been busy taking accommodation requests.  Put away that snow shovel, read through our Conference Program and make your plans to be with us for Apple Blossom Time (well, just after) now - Just go to the District 7820 Home Page and click on District Conference or go directly to 7820conference.com

We want to preview the Keynote and other Speakers and events:  Our RI President John Germ has named a President’s Representative to visit with us, to talk about what Rotary International is doing, and to meet as many individual Rotarians as possible.  Steve Brown, a member of the Rotary Club of La Jola, California, has served as one of 15 Trustees of the Rotary Foundation and has extensive experience in the many initiatives funded through the Foundation.  He has been hands on with projects in Afghanistan and Africa, visiting there frequently and supporting programs that link students from primary to university with their counterparts from around the world.  Steve is a lawyer by vocation, and lives in the San Diego area with his wife Susan, who will also be visiting us.  If you want more information on Steve, look at his Rotary web site: www.stevebrownrotary.com

We will have a second Barrie, Ontario Rotary Club Member (the first is Rose Adams) joining the Conference, and taking part in the pre-conference Leadership Training as well: Bryn Stiles.  Bryn has been a Rotarian since 1986 and he has been active in Club, District, Zone and Rotary Foundation leadership since beginning his Rotary Journey.  His main passions are membership and the Foundation, and he will share these passions with us during his visit.  Bryn and his wife Randy (also coming to the Valley) are pharmacists by training, and Randy has also been involved in supporting the Foundation in a number of ways.  Bryn is currently a Trustee of the Rotary Foundation, and will bring us a Canadian perspective on the international activities of RI, and how these link to our own Clubs and projects.

Please talk now about the District Conference at your Club Meetings, and we greatly appreciate every Club who confirms the attendance of their representatives, and every individual Rotarian who registers early.  Our host facility is always busy in early June, so “early” is best:  phone the Old Orchard Inn at 1 800 561-8090 and mention the Rotary Conference to get the Conference Rates.
