Who should attend:  All incoming Club Leaders – Executive, Directors, Committee Chairs – AND aspiring leaders – AND members interested in making your club irresistible… even if you came last year, come again!  The learning will be different!

What will happen at this interactive TLC day of learning?

  • Professional development and leadership training that will useful in clubs and at work!
  • Separate Breakouts about the roles and responsibilities for Secretaries & Treasurers – learn about the most important tasks of your role, and review best practices and calendars of key dates; Advanced Treasurer session for those interested in establishing a foundation.
  • Effective Meetings for Presidents, Directors and Committee Chairs – learn how to chair a great meeting that is fun and productive … and that members won’t want to miss!  Simply irresistible!
  • Annual Club Planning for All Leaders – you will learn about Effective Planning and actually work on your club’s plan in this working session – this will get you started on the necessary planning for July 1.
  • Foundation, Youth and Membership – critical information that all club leaders need to know.

The “working session” parts of the day will be most beneficial if your club is well represented – the day is open to all members and we strongly encourage your Executive, Directors and Committee Chairs to attend.  If you have members who might be considering leadership roles “down the road”, they are most welcome to participate too.  You will leave with a lot of your work for next year well underway!

We’d like you to bring a few things with you – they will help you with the working sessions – a laptop or tablet would be helpful along with the following: a copy of your club’s Strategic Plan (if you have one), your committees, membership numbers, goals for the current year, an understanding of any critical issues your club faces, and of your online presence and how you use social media.  If you came last year and have a copy of the Club evaluation, bring that too!

Note that there will also be professional development/leadership training for Presidents, Secretaries and other leaders at the District Conference. Training on “generous leadership” will be offered by an expert in executive professional development on June 1.

There is $10.00 charge for this event to cover the cost of lunch and breaks.  It is payable at the door. Rooms are in Forrester Hall and include #'s 224,226,227 and theatre room 139 in lower level.
