We have a small group of ladies in our Rotary Club making bags for Days for Girls.
During the last year, we have converted 30 metres of material into around 500 bags.
(These are to replace the plastic bags that can no longer be used.
Days for Girls (DFG) is a non-profit organisation that prepares and distributes sustainable menstrual health solutions to over 2 million girls worldwide who would otherwise miss school (or work) during their monthly periods.

DFG was founded in 2008 by American woman Celeste Mergens. So...on Wednesday mornings a small group of us cut, iron, sew, glue, and overlock bags to go into the kit that is given to each girl.

The kits are in high demand internationally and the Mercy ships can sometimes take a thousand bags from NZ to distribute when they sail around the Pacific islands.

Ladies...if you have spare time on a Wednesday morning ....and an overlocker you can bring....you are very welcome to join us. Adrienne, Jackie O’Hagan, Jacqui Thompson (laid up for the moment), and Louise Carnie
