RC Barbados West Awards 2016/2017 Rotary West Scholarships

The Rotary Club of Barbados West has announced it has awarded the Rotary West 2016/2017 to Miss Shaneanoh Carter and Miss Chloe Thompson. Miss Carter is pursuing the BSc Chemistry degree at the Faculty of Science & Technology at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus and is currently enrolled in the final year of the four year programme. While Miss Thompson is pursuing BSc in Medicine at the Faculty of Science & Technology at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus.
The Rotary Club of Barbados West Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to academically proficient students who would not been able to attend university without financial assistance. The scholarship is supported by funds raised from the Annual Rotary West Diamonds International Sandy Lane Golf Classic. This event was last held on May 25th.
Over the past 15 years, Diamonds International & Sandy Lane Golf Club have pledged their continued support to the Golf Classic event. Through this initiative, the Rotary West Scholarship Programme has provided sponsorship for deserving students enrolled in tertiary education. Due to the substantial support from our partners, funds have also been allocated to other major projects such as the refurbishment of the Pediatrics Ward at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
