The Rotary 5K Corporate Challenge is a run/walk held each year in mid-April at SUNY Adirondack. This year, race day is Saturday, April 13, 2019. The course winds around the exterior of the campus, providing scenic views of the campus, as well as, surrounding mountains and countryside. Race registration is available at Active.com. Click here to register https://endurancecui.active.com/event-reg/select-race?e=57511154 or by hard copy printable applications available here on the club website at www.glensfallsrotary.org. Funds raised by this event go to charities each year designated by the Rotary Club Board of Directors. These funds assist the designated charities in carrying out their mission in our area.

This year, The Conkling Center is one of two charities who will benefit from the proceeds of this event. The Conkling Center is a not for profit operating foundation that works with and assists our growing senior population in Glens Falls and Queensbury. Our second charity, The Prospect Center, is a not for profit organization providing services for children and adults with developmental disabilities in Warren, Washington, Essex, Saratoga, and Hamilton counties.

This 3.1-mile health and wellness event kicks off race day, April 13, 2019 at the SUNY Adirondack Student Center on Bay Road, Queensbury, NY. Pre-registration is open now and ends on April 3, 2019. The cost per adult is $26 dollars, kids 12 and under is $17 during pre-registration. Thereafter, cost per adult is $31, and kids 12 and under is $22. We open at 8 am on race day with registration and race packet pick up. The race starts at 10am at the North end of the campus on Haviland Road. After the race, food, beverages, and raffles can be found back in the Student Center. The Rotary 5K Corporate Challenge finishes with awards in individual categories, team awards, and an award for the organization with the most participants crossing the finishing line.

The Rotary 5K Corporate Challenge course provides the opportunity for experienced runners to compete and test their running on this flat and fast course with one small hill at the start. The course also provides a good experience for new runners and walkers. Area companies and organizations often encourage employees and members to participate as a health and wellness activity that they can train for and build friendships in the process.
