OSU Dean and Director Timothy Rehner wants to make Lima a destination campus.
"Do Destination OSU Lima" is Tim Rehner's slogan. He has been Dean and Director of The Ohio State University Lima campus for six months and says he believes in the campus's potential. Rehner told us that he took the job because he likes the energy and capacity of the campus and the support from the community. "The time is right and change is possible.
There are two things I think we need to do. We need to become "destination Ohio State University Lima." We need to extend our resource-rich campus to make it a more magical environment that fosters growth for all and it needs to be inclusive for all kinds of traditional and non-traditional students. It needs to be part of the solution for how we keep talent in northwest Ohio. We need to build pipeline loops to campus into the community so we can help fill some of the 1,200-1,800 jobs that are consistently open in this part of Ohio. It's about how you build futures." Rehner says we need two things to "Do destination OSU Lima:" a destination curriculum with new degree plans, new certificates, more internships, new pathways between OSU/Lima and Rhodes State College, a new residence hall, a dining commons and more things that create a campus experience that motivates students to stay.
Also at Monday's meeting, Dick Schroeder took a few minutes to explain how the recognition points that you accumulate when you contribute to the Rotary Annual Fund or PolioPlus can be transferred to others to help them qualify for Paul Harris Fellowship.
We also welcomed Wayne Korpics as the newest member of the Lima Rotary Club. He is a financial advisor with Edward Jones, a former member of the Findlay Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow.
