Ideas for strengthening membership

The State of Rotary’s Membership
Did you know that the number of clubs has grown in both Rotary and Rotaract? Or that the comfort and care of our members is the single greatest factor in member satisfaction? Learn about the latest membership trends in the newly updated State of Rotary’s Membership presentation. The 15-slide PowerPoint presentation shows how we’re doing as of 1 July. It can be shared and is easy to customize for your region.

If you want to learn more about setting membership goals, watch the recordings of the first two webinars in the From Insight to Action series. Register now for the last webinar in this series, which will take place on Wednesday, 9 November, at 11:00 Chicago time (UTC-6). Everyone who registers will receive a recording via email.

Service Above Self Award nominations due this month
The Service Above Self Award is one of Rotary International’s highest distinctions in service, honoring Rotarians — and now also Rotaractors — who help others by volunteering their time and talents. Only district governors can nominate candidates for this award, and no more than 150 recipients are selected each year. If you know someone who has demonstrated exemplary service, encourage their governor to nominate them for the Service Above Self Award between 1 and 31 October. Read about one past recipient’s service

Call for stories
One of RI President Jennifer Jones’ initiatives this year is to focus on the comfort and care of our members. If you have a success story about engaging members in a meaningful way that you’d like to share with us, write to membershipdevelopment@rotary.org.

Get ready for World Polio Day
As we get closer to World Polio Day on 24 October, we need your help to raise awareness about Rotary’s efforts to eradicate polio. Download the World Polio Day Toolkit for resources and tips that will help you plan activities and use social media to promote a polio-free world. Tell us how you’re participating by registering your club’s event.

2022 Interact Awards
The 2022 Interact Awards are here! This year, Interact clubs are invited to show how their members are champions of diversity, equity, and inclusion through their projects, club, and community. Awards will be given for best video, best photo, and best essay. Interact sponsors and advisers, let your clubs know that nominations are due by 1 December.
Finding a sense of belonging in Rotary
Maricler Botelho, assistant governor of District 4510, first discovered Rotary through her husband, Laércio G. Domingues. She was already participating in various service projects when she was invited to become a member. Learn how Rotary instilled in her a strong sense of belonging.
