Western Lakes Fire District field trip
A trip to Western Lakes Fire District enlightened Rotarians of the mighty crew’s dedication to citizen safety. WLFD serves more than 54,500 in 11 different communities. They have 42 full time positions. EMS response times have improved and services enhanced through extensive onboarding and training. WLFD operates its own apprenticeship program, drawing participants from across the US. Research rated Oconomowoc manufacturers for hazard safety, false alarms were monitored and safety equipment made more accessible to respond to overdoses, heart attacks and emergencies.
On May 1 the department will adopt a new ladder truck and on May 20 it will host the Taste of Western Lakes with equipment displays, police K-9 and food trucks. Its mission: The Western Lakes Fire District is committed to providing the highest level of protection of life and property to those served.
