District 5950 Rotarians have completed and planned projects to plant over 28,000 trees in Minnesota this Rotary year, far exceeding Rotary International President Ian Riseley’s challenge to plant over 2,700 trees. Rotarians from District 5950 are collaborating with The Nature Conservancy and Great River Greening to plant 25,000 trees in Minnesota this year. One of those events is coming up in May!

Join us on May 10 and 11 on the North Shore as Rotarians from District 5950 partner with The Nature Conservancy to plant 2,000 trees. The planting will take place at a location that is a 30-minute drive north of Two Harbors. The event will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 10, and 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 11.

There is an optional activity Friday afternoon, May 11, to take a nature hike led by Jim Manolis, The Nature Conservancy Forest Conservation Program Director.

Space is limited. Register today by emailing Steve Solbrack. Twenty volunteers are needed.

Hotel reservations: AmericInn Lodge & Suites in Two Harbors, 218-834-3000. A group discount rate of $90 per night is available, including Saturday and Sunday if you extend your weekend. Ask for Chad and specify the Rotary Tree Planting Group.

The event is open to families, including children over age 12. We are limited to 80 volunteers, so register today.
