Have you decided how you're voting this upcoming referendum regarding Eden Prairie Schools? This coming Thursday (10/9/2014) we will have Curt Tryggestad, Superintendent of Eden Prairie Schools, as our guest speaker. He will speak about the upcoming referendum and about the pros and cons of the proposal.

Eden Prairie Schools will have two questions on the ballot November 4. If approved, the new funding would replace the current funding that has been in place since 2004 and will expire at the end of the 2014-15 school year. If voters approve both questions, it will have a tax impact of $13 per month on the average homeowner. If Question #1 is not approved, the district must make $10 million in cuts to academic programs, teachers, administrative and support positions, and increase class sizes and fees throughout the district in order to balance the budget for the 2015-16 school year.

Mr. Tryggestad has been Superintendent of Eden Prairie Schools since 2012, and previously served as the Superintendent at Little Falls Community Schools. We are looking forward to hearing from Mr. Tryggestad about his view on the referendum!
