Rotary Minute
Since the launch of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI), the global incidence of polio cases has decreased by 99 percent. In March 2014 India, once deemed the most difficult place to end polio, was declared polio-free, making the entire Southeast Region polio-free. Now that 99 percent of the world’s population lives in regions certified polio-free, the goal of eradication is closer than ever.

A memorial to Eddie Melin

Snak Pak
Rotarians Volunteer for Kids
Our Raise the bar fundraiser netted $18,000 which was presented to Caprock High School, September 17th, to begin their Snack Shak program.
Snack Pak 4 kids received a $20,000 challenge grant from a foundation in Austin Texas. Caprock students needed to raise the matching $20,000. This timely fundraiser made it all come together for these students.  Snack Pak 4  kids plans to have Snack Shaks available in all AISD middle and high schools by the 2015 school year.
The story continues.  District 5730 Grant funds where distributed and the share allocated to the Rotary Club of Amarillo allowed us to support the launch of the Snack Shak program at Fannin Middle School.  A check for $5000.00 was presented on January 15th to the school principal Nathan Culwell.
