Carolyn Stager recently completed a 29-year career with the Oklahoma Municipal League serving in several positions including Chief Operating Officer and Director of Governmental Relations.  The last 8 years, Stager served as the first female Executive Director in the organization’s 103-year history. 

Stager is Founder and Co-Owner of Stick it in Stones, Inc. (SIIS) an Oklahoma company established in 1997 specializing in state seal jewelry and currently doing business in over 25 states.  SIIS provides customized logo and Swarovski crystal jewelry to Native American Tribes, universities, businesses and professional organizations as well as other state governments.

In 1999 Carolyn suffered catastrophic injuries as the result of a massive F-5 tornado that struck central Oklahoma.  She collaborated in writing a book with Kimberly Suiters about her survival and eventual triumph over the disaster and its effects.  Twist of Faith was released in 2009.  Carolyn continues to inspire others with her story of faith and restoration.

The native of Midwest City, Oklahoma holds a Master’s Degree with honors in Political Science with emphasis on Urban Affairs from the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO).  She is a graduate of Tinker Air Force Base Commstar Leadership Program, a graduate of SALLT (Salt & Light) Leadership Class VI and a graduate and Class Ambassador for Leadership Oklahoma Class 13.  Stager also serves on the Executive Committee for the Oklahoma Academy, UCO Foundation Board and UCO Liberal Arts Advisory Committee.  She volunteers in various capacities at Crossings Community Church and has served as volunteer and judge for local pageants with the Miss Oklahoma Scholarship Program.   Stager is a two-time finalist for the Journal Record Woman of the Year and in 2015 was inducted into the Rose State College Hall of Fame.

 Carolyn resides in Oklahoma City with her husband, Bill Strecker.  Together they share 5 children and 6 grandchildren.
