POSITION HELD: Member of various committees and President of two Melbourne-based clubs

DATES OF SERVICE: 1968 – 2011 (43 years)
(Clubs: Newsted, Brisbane; Heidelberg, West Footscray, and Melbourne South clubs in Victoria).

ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN:
Over a period of 43 years Graham devoted himself to various Rotary causes at a number of Rotary Clubs, being appointed President of both Heidelberg and Melbourne South. The work he did overseas is worthy of special mention, specifically with the Rotaract Club - which was a junior community service group - and the District Group Study Exchange (GSE) team to New Mexico in early 1984. Graham established the Helping Grant initiative which ultimately saw flow-through benefit to East Timor. Being Chairman of the Rotary Foundation Committee and having overall responsibility for its educational and humanitarian programmes is also worthy of special mention.

Following on from Graham’s Chairmanship of the District Benefactor Program, the program was adopted by the World President of Rotary International, as a key plank in underpinning the financial development of the Rotary Foundations educational and humanitarian programs.

Congratulations Graham Keith Lockwood
