The AVRSF provided a grant last year to provide extra scholarships for AV and Eastview High Schools.
The Warrior 196 Memorial 5K Run/Walk honors and remembers five local alumni of the Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan Schools who lost their lives while serving in the US Armed Forces. The Warrior 196 Leadership Foundation uses the proceeds from the 5K to award scholarships to graduating seniors in the name of: CAPT Nathanael Doring, LCPL Daniel Olsen, CPL Benjamin Kopp, 1LT Christopher Goeke, and CPL Andrew Wilfahrt.
The 2021 Warrior 196 Memorial 5K will be held on the campus of Rosemount High School on Saturday, 18 September 2021, starting at 9:00 AM.
The race course will start and end on the RHS campus with the route following residential streets and walking paths in the neighborhoods near the high school.
Also planned for the event is a small vendor expo of organizations, groups, and businesses that are supportive of active duty personnel and veterans.
