The Red Cross has implemented numerous COVID-19 safety protocols for their blood drives. One change is that they only want volunteers to help with donor intake and sign in, but not volunteers for the canteen. That means we only need 3 volunteers for this drive, assuming that volunteers all take a 2-hour shift.
***Please be aware that our volunteers will be responsible to take donor temperatures at check in. The Red Cross currently uses oral thermometers, so the donor mask will be down for approx. 30 seconds. You will be provided with a blue surgical-style mask or N95, depending on what the Red Cross staff happens to grab that day. Or you can wear your own, if the Red Cross thinks it's sufficient. Everyone inside the donor area will be required to wear a mask.***
Knowing all of that, if you are comfortable volunteering, below are the open time slots. Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before your shift time, so a Red Cross staffer can review protocols with you.
