Louise Keramaris  from the Australian Conservation Foundation Mornington who was our guest speaker three weeks ago has sent the following message to the Club:

Good afternoon everyone

I hope you are all well.

In following up from our last meeting I wish to advise that there are 41 Australian Conservation  Foundation  groups that are  Australia wide.

In regards to the question raised regarding how a house becomes Heritage listed, the following advice is provided:

- best to contact the planning officer at the Council to ask about the Heritage protection laws that the Council adheres to in the first instance

I hope that answers the  questions that were raised following on from the evening.

Thank you  again for the opportunity to meet with you on behalf of ACF Mornington and please feel free to invite any members of this group for a follow-up discussion and opportunities to work together in the future.

Infinite blessings, Louise

Our guest speaker last week was Friend of the Club Shirley Hawe who spoke about the ODA School in Siem Reap in Cambodia and how that the dealing with the challenges of COVID-19.

This week's guest speaker on 24 November was Assistant Professor Bevan Main from the Georgetown University in Washington DC. Bevan spoke on the subject of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy. This very interesting talk has been of particular interest in Australia recently following it being publicly announced that a number of former AFL footballers have suffered from it including Graham "Polly" Farmer and Danny Frawley.
