US & India Supreme Court Appointment Differences

On October 1, 2021 Chagrin Highlands Rotary Club is having Senior Advocate K.V. Viswanathan from India as a guest speaker via Zoom. 

Senior Advocates are designated by Justices of India’s Supreme Court. He is one of 300 in the last 75 years.

He was Additional Solicitor General of India: August 26, 2013 to May 15th 2014.

He has appeared in several reported cases in diverse branches of law before the Supreme Court and different High Courts throughout India. He has also been privileged to assist the Supreme Court of India, as an Amicus Curiae in a large number of matters.

In mid-eighties he was an active member of the Rotaract club at Coimbatore, India and has participated in several camps organized by the Rotary for blood donation and for relief to the poor.

Mr. Viswanathan is also a member of the Editorial Board of Supreme Court Cases (SCC), premier Law Journal. He interacts with Law students through his lectures across the country and providing practical advice to them on joining the legal profession.
