Susan Magee is Executive Officer of Casey North - Community Information and Support Service Inc. (CNCISS).

Susan gave a very interesting talk which is summarised for our Bulletin.  She has been working in this area for 20 years.  She acknowledged the sad loss of Mick Morland to both CNCISS and Rotary saying he was a dedicated community representative.

The Christmas Program in particular would not be as successful without the support of Berwick Rotary, overseeing collection bins at the shopping centres and delivery of donations to CNCISS.  At Christmas 2016, 350 households were assisted with hampers (116% increase) and 592 children with toys (53% increase.

People who are homeless or experience family violence in particular are being helped by this organisation. CNCISS is always looking at creative ways to respond to people in trouble.  There has been a winter coat drive for example.

The City of Casey has one of the highest numbers of people reliant on welfare benefits as their primary source of income compared with other municipalities.  Also one of the highest number of bankruptcy applications.  There are high number of family breakdowns as well.

CNCISS relies on the support of service Clubs like the Rotary Club of Berwick.
