Rotary Moment  -  Mo Brown

Mo told how he was born in Jamaica, his father was a truck driver and his mother worked in a cigar factory rolling cigars.  His father stressed education and made sure that all of his nine children received an education.  Mo graduated from university with a degree in electrical engineering.  Mo has lived in Tucson since 1970 but appreciates having been able to travel extensively to all continents except Australia and Antarctica.

Mo explained that Hugh Smith introduced him to Rotary in Tucson although his brother was a Rotarian in Jamaica.  He was most impressed and proud to be a member of Casas Adobes when he attended his first 8th Grade Honors Breakfast.  He is also proud of Rotary’s goal to eradicate polio since he remembers losing high school students in Jamaica to polio.  Mo’s goal is to remain in Rotary as long as possible.
