Dear Rotarians,

Can you believe that it is almost March? And March will mark one year since our lives changed because of the Pandemic. This has been a challenging year for all of us but as Rotarians we have really pulled through, putting Service Above Self and doing what we can to contribute to our community.

I personally want to thank all of you for your continued support to the club. You all have been so tremendous in your generosity, as always, and without that support, we would not have been able to report some of the exciting things I have to share with you.

First, we have upgraded our AV technology to a system called Switcher Studio that will allow us to record/stream our meetings almost like a television production. This will enhance the viewing experience for those tuning in virtually as well as allowing us to take amazing footage of our service projects, The Tucson Classics Car Show, Mixers and other events that will promote the RCoT to our community and potential members. Our goal here is to get more members engaged by extending the ways they can experience our meetings and get-togethers during these difficult times.

Secondly, we have two exciting meetings coming up; on March 17th we have our Centennial Program where Jim Lubinski will be discussing plans for our Centennial Event and TCCS Car Show Chair Joni Condit will be revealing the car we will be raffling off at our 2021 Tucson Classics Car Show!  And on March 31st, Cliff Bowman will be presenting checks to our Charities from last year’s “virtual” Car Show, where you helped create amazing results.  Don’t miss this Club's favorite meeting!

Finally, we have big news about where we meet as a Club.  Our contract is up this June and unfortunately I need to let you know that our home, The DoubleTree, for the past 39 years is  not able to commit to us when, and even if, they will be able to service our club. Fortunately, we have had a venue search committee in place for the past three months and they have narrowed down their exhaustive search and negotiations with alternative locations.

Over the course of the next two months, we will be visiting as a Club, all three of the venues that the Club Board voted unanimously to be on the shortlist of possibilities this past Thursday. Though this is sad in some ways, it will create so many new opportunities for our club especially during our Centennial year! Of course, we will be asking for our members' opinions on each venue so you will have an opportunity to advise the Board in making this important decision.  Curious about the three locations?  Attend our meeting this Wednesday or go online and watch as we will announce the three finalists at our meeting on the 24th!

I cannot wait to see how things develop over the next few months, it is such a celebratory and transformative time for our club.

Thank you all for your kindness and support.

Yours In Rotary,

President Jen
