It was as a day that started not dissimilar to the previous 249 days of 2022. And yet – there was a disconcerting tingling of excitement adrift– the explanation of which became self-evident at high-noon when The President, BRUCE JACOBS shed his cloak of informality and commandingly commenced with the opening of the festivities.

An IMAGINE video was played.  LYNETTE WELLS gave a rousing rendition of both the Pledge and the Song, “America the Beautiful”.

MITCH PISIK was, dare I claim, mesmerizing in the context, content, and communication of his Inspirational Message. He made us cheer, made us laugh, and made us consider how blessed we are to be members of an organization that is so brilliant in its prioritizations that we have no choice but to consistently and continually making the right decisions for our community and ourselves.

Yet another delicious and mostly healthy lunch was served.  KHRIS DODGE warmly welcomed our four guests.

MICHAEL GUYMON enthusiastically and impactfully welcomed our guest speaker: Jansen Azarias-Suzumoto – CEO of Higher Ground.

“Restart SMART – Empowering the Neighborhood to Invest in Their Schools”

He eloquently shared with us the almost insurmountable challenges of educating our children of need, shared examples of successes he has created, starting various Community Schools and partnerships, and his focus on ultimately academic excellence for all. The book “Superheroes Love Starting School” was signed by Jansen and donated to the 'Make Way for Books' library.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to: JIM WOOD, ART ALLIS and BOB ERNSTEIN.

KHRIS DODGE joyfully welcomed new member CHITA STEVENSON of the Jazz Festival: Community & Social Services: Tucson Jazz Festival

KATHLEEN WICKS proudly introduced new member LYNETTE WELLS of Ralph’s Moving & Storage, who recently became a Corporate Membership.  Welcome to the Club you two!!!

KHRIS DODGE reluctantly gave BRETT STEIN the $71 he won from the raffle.  KHRIS also exhibited unmitigated joy at not allowing anyone to win the big prize of over $900.

$150 was generously raised for two football tickets donated by JON WANG.  Thank you JON!
