NAMI Grand Traverse received a $1,000.00 grant from Rotary towards our development of a hybrid offering of classes and support groups to the families we serve in the NW Michigan area. Our ability to reach families and people affected by mental illness has been greatly impacted by COVID-19 and we desired to get the equipment to offer support by Zoom and other remote technology.

With the monies given, we were able to purchase 2 laptops, equipped with the technology and programs to run our meetings and class offerings.  Further, we purchased a large screen TV.  We now conduct our weekly family and peer support groups more personally with this technology.  For a while we were able to do this both in person and via Zoom; however, with policy changes in our building, we now must only use zoom.

These laptops and TV monitors allow our organization to function well within the restrictions of COVID.

We, the Board of NAMIGT, and the hundreds of people and their families affected by mental illnesses we serve, thank you for your generosity and commitment to serve our community. https://namigt.org/

Sincerely,
