Annual Giving; 23 of our 31 clubs have given to the Foundation through Annual Giving.
 
Polio Plus: 20 0f our clubs have given to Polio. The District has given US $15000 out of it DDF fund to support the Polio Campaign.
Rotary Global Grant Scholars
Global Grant 1758861 Gretchen Druliner has a global Grant scholarship and is currently living and studying in Dunedin. She received $15,000 from District 5030 in California which was matched with $15,000 from the World Funds
 
Global Grant 1872520  Remaya Campbell has a global Grant scholarship and is currently living and studying in Dunedin. Remaya received $12,000 from a directed Gift to the Endowment Fund from District 5330 in California. This was added to by a grant from the DDF fund from District 5330 in California of $9,000 . This was matched with $30,000 from the World Funds
 
Global Grant 1978086 , E-Wash Club, Nigeria
The main objective is to work in collaboration with local Rotary clubs, school and community leadership to provide improved sanitation facilities, access to clean water, and hygiene education for teachers and students. Ten clubs across the world have contributed. Rotary District 9142 in Nigeria and our District 9980 have contributed $8000 from DDF funds. This was matched with $61,165 from the World Funds.
 
Global Grant 1874560 Thamdanda, Nepal
A  water and sanitation project. The prime objective is to provide safe drinking water for all of the households, together with toilets for the 30 poorest households within 5 settlements in the Temal Rural Municipality. Five clubs across NZ  have contributed. Eight Districts have contributed from DDF funds a total of $52,000, including our District $5000. This was matched with $61,013 from the World Funds.
 
Global Grant 1877027 – Sarigam, India
The Waimate club has an ongoing connection with Sarigam having help support the building of a hospital there and taking many club members to visit. The objective of this grant was to provide modern and essential basic general surgeries at that hospital was supported by one club in Sarigam, a directed Gift of $15000 to the Endowment Fund from District 3060 in India and a   $1,500 DDF  grant from District 3060. This was matched with $9,003 from the World Funds.
 
Global Grant 1874701– Sarigam, India
Another grant from the Waimate club and Sarigam. The objective is to strengthen educational experience for 4500 students of rural areas to provide improved resources. This was supported by one club in Sarigam, a directed Gift of $15000 to the Endowment Fund from District 3060 in India. This was matched with $11530 from the World Funds.
 
Global Grant 1871441 Tavenui
The objective of this project is to restore the sight to around 330 Fijians. This grant was supported by two clubs in New Zealand, DDF grants from five of the NZ Districts, our contribution from DDF funds was $5000. This was matched with $38000 from the World Funds.
 
Global Grant 1869489 Madagasgar
The objective of this project is to support exceptionally talented students in education. Upon graduation students will work for the social enterprise as software developers. Profits from the company will feed back into the school to educate more students. This grant was supported by two clubs in New Zealand, a non-rotarian contribution of $32,000, and DDF grants from four of the NZ Districts , our contribution from DDF funds was $5000. This was matched with $40335 from the World Funds.
 
Global Grant 1864596 Rarotonga
The objective of this project is to upgrade existing health clinics through providing the use of a mobile clinic. This grant was supported by twelve clubs in New Zealand and from four of the NZ Districts, our contribution from DDF funds was $5000. This was matched with $116,782 from the World Funds.
 
Global Grant 1864596 Mongolia Phase 4
The objective of this grant is to save the lives of mothers and children. This project is a follow up to Phase 3. This project provided specialised training for nurses and midwives which will also be adopted as part of the curriculum that students are taught. This grant was supported by four clubs a DDF grant from District 3450 in Mongolia and a DDF Grant of $26,500 from our District. This was matched with $31,750 from the World Funds.
 
Global Grant 1754735 Uganda
The Gore  club, through the vision of Cadre Candace Bangura initiated an “adopt a village programme” in Kampala , Uganda. This project is intended to provide the community with a multifaceted development program that will improve the general community life though providing clean water to the whole community, empowering the community economically through providing some level of vocational training items to the students and sewing machines to the community. This was supported by the Rotary Clubs of Gore, Invercargill, Invercargill North, Balclutha, Winton and Dunedin Central with a total of $20,000, a DDF grant from District 9211 in Uganda and a DDF Grant of $30,000 from our District. This was matched with $42,500 from the World Funds.
This project is featured on RI online as an excellent example of community assessment practice.
 
Global Grant 1758106 Luyando, Zambia
The main objective is to provide a new toilet block with flushing toilets, urinals for both the staff and pupils at Luyando Community School. This grant was supported by nine clubs across the world including Invercargill East, a DDF grant from District 9710 in New South Wales, Australia, District 7360 in Houston and 7300 in Pittsburgh. This was matched with $16,625 from the World Funds.
 
Global Grant 1635691 India
The main objective is to provide toilets, washrooms in the slum and rural areas. This grant was supported by grants from two clubs including Invercargill Sunrise , a non-rotarian contribution. It included a grant from District 3141 in India and a DDF Grant of $15,000 from our District. This was matched with $28,500 from the World Funds.
 
Global Grant 1530693 Sri Lanka
The main objective is to provide equipment and training to support molecular diagnostics in Sri Lanka.  This grant was supported by twenty six clubs across the world, six contributions from non-rotarians including Dunedin South, DDF grants from Districts 9670  in New South Wales, 9465 in Perth, 8455 in Montana, 3460 in  Taiwan, 3220 in Colombo,  9550 in Queensland, 9455 Western Australia, 9685 in Sydney and a DDF Grant of $10,000 from our District. This was matched with $84168 from the World Funds.
 
Global Grant 1531459 India
The main objective is to provide toilet blocks and handwash facilities for girl students. This grant was supported by grants from Queenstown and Fiordland clubs and a club in India. It included a grant from District 3060 in India and a DDF Grant of $5,000 from our District. This was matched with $16,250 from the World Funds.
 
Global Grant 1529067 Mongolia
This project screened previously untested individuals for hepatitis and liver cancer, connecting positive patients to life saving care and educating participants about hepatitis and liver cancer prevention. Thousands of people were educated though a community awareness event. This grant was supported by twenty six clubs across the world including Alexandra and Waimate, a DDF grant from District 3450 in Mongolia, District 5510 in Arizona and a DDF Grant of $5,000 from our District. This was matched with $56,132 from the World Funds.
 
Global Grant 1418988 Mwika, Tanzania
The main objective is to boost the economic welfare of Mwika community households by increasing incomes earned through expanded milk production and improved processing of dairy products; improving the socio-economic positions of the dairy farmers though expanded use of bio-gas; and supporting ‘secondary’ growth of employment and incomes in dairy related supply of inputs and services.  This grant was supported by forty nine clubs across the world including Dunedin South, a DDF grant from four Districts in NZ, District 9670 in Gladstone, Australia and a DDF Grant of $3,000 from our District. This was matched with $174,825 from the World Funds.
