Last year a group of District 6250 Rotarians led by Lyn Kenney mentored and  interviewed Solomon Odero of Kenya in his quest to become a Rotary Peace Fellow.  Read more if you want to find out how that story turned out.

Dear Lyn,

It is my pleasure to receive this award and acceptance to join the fellowship. Words won't be enough to express my gratitude to you and the team from your district who accepted to walk with me through the process. Your advise during the application process was so immense that I was able to do the right thing.

I would also want to thank your panel of interviewers who were full of wisdom and knowledge to ask me questions related to my work. I believe their input was one of the key things that you passed me over for this fellowship. Thank you and thank you very much

I will remain comital to this process and I promise I will work very closely with you and the team you are putting in place to ensure that I achieve the objectives of the fellowship.

looking forward to more collaboration and partnership

Regards

Solomon

Solomon:

This is wonderful news and our district is very proud of you being accepted!  I will be introducing you soon to Robin Shih who will be taking over my position next year as chair for Peace Fellow Scholars in our district.  In the meantime, I will be writing to you and doing a cc to Robin as she transitions into the role.

I would like to write up something for our District newsletter about you and include a picture.  Would you please write a paragraph or two and email that (and the picture) to me.
Most all of your contacts for arranging this Fellowship will now come from Rotary International.  We do, however, want to remain in touch going forward as we like to follow the progress of those scholars our district selected.
Again, congratulations!

Lyn
