THIS YEAR'S INSTALLATION PROMISES EXCITEMENT!

There are already 100 Rotarians and friends, and twenty clubs registered for the District Installation Dinner. With only two weeks until the big day for the incoming presidents, their leadership teams and those who will serve the district, now is the time to register. Dave Manzi, the incoming Governor, would love to have every president for the 2015-2016 Rotary year attend and be part of a great evening of fun and fellowship. We as members of our individual clubs have an opportunity to show our support for those who have stepped forward to take on these important roles in providing service to our communities. The committee highly encourages clubs to reserve a table early to insure that your members can sit together.

IPSWICH ROTARY MAKES HISTORY

On June 6, Ipswich Rotary officially inaugurated the first Rotary Satellite Club in our area, and one of the first in Rotary International worldwide.  Members of the new satellite club are members of Ipswich Rotary who will meet separately as an evening club that will focus primarily on community service.

Following a short fellowship brunch, Ipswich Rotary President Rev. Brad Clark opened the proceedings by describing how the satellite club was envisioned.  Ipswich Rotary was looking to engage great people who want to serve their communities but cannot meet weekly in the traditional way.  The satellite club offers a more flexible and customized approach that should appeal to today’s busy professional and community leaders.

Brad then introduced District Governor Peter Simonsen.  Peter emphasized the historic importance of the event.  He said that this landmark initiative will make Rotary more accessible and effective, and that it was symbolic for the change to begin in Ipswich with its tradition of service and innovation, both locally and internationally.  He added that Ipswich Rotary is a like a family, a club that knows how to have fun while doing good things in the world.
