WINCHESTER HOSTS THREE VISITING PRESIDENTS

The Winchester Rotary Club hosted an amazing meeting on April 2nd with Club Presidents Sarah Boulos from Burlington, Diane Bedard from Burlington Breakfast and Amy Palmerino from Stoneham visiting as guest speakers. Sarah, Diane and Amy spoke of exciting developments and events at their clubs, how they became Rotarians and the joy of fellowship in visiting clubs.

Paul Gleason, as President of the host Winchester Club, welcomed his fellow presidents. He joined Assistant Governor Peter Majane in contributing Happy Dollars to commemorate the fellowship of the meeting and went on to express his personal pleasure at being a part of an effort that contributes so much to the welfare of each of the towns that were represented. It was definitely an event to be repeated!

Sarah Boulos noted, “It was a pleasure to visit Paul and the Winchester Rotary Club with Diane and Amy and share what each of our clubs' has focused on this year. Many ideas were shared and as a result, there were opportunities identified for each of us to take back to our own clubs. What was most evident was the feeling of community and fellowship that each club has. Thank you to Paul and the Rotarians of Winchester for providing a warm welcome and giving us this wonderful opportunity.” Diane Bedard added, “It was a great experience meeting the three Presidents to discuss what each club has been doing over the past year. Their dedication to their clubs is admirable and motivating. It was especially nice to learn how other clubs approach ‘Service Above Self.’” Amy Palmerino summed up the experience in her eyes, “I really enjoyed visiting the Rotary Club of Winchester where I found the members to be friendly, humorous and very dedicated to their community. It is always helpful to spend time with other clubs to get a different perspective on how to create community spirit and deliver service! I am thankful to Paul Gleason for his hospitality and to Peter Majane for cultivating this series so that as Club Presidents we can have a nice support system.

Members were also delighted. Winchester Rotarian Tom Wade reported, “I've been a Rotarian since 2001 or so and I can't ever recall having three local Club Presidents visit our club to tell us about what they are doing for fundraising, grants and donations. Whenever I attend District events, I like to ask the other Rotarians what their clubs are doing for fundraising and activities. I feel it was very useful to have three of our neighboring Presidents visit to share information about their clubs.”
