Among the highlights of this past weekend's Conference and Assembly was undoubtedly a visit from Boston Bruin legend, our #77, Ray Bourque. Ray was our featured speaker at Saturday night's dinner, attended by about 80 Rotarians and guests. Ray spent time chatting with Rotarians during the fellowship cocktail reception and took the podium to speak about some of his memories as a Bruin, his family, post-hockey life, and charitable organization, the Celebrities for Charity Foundation. Ray also took questions from guests including one from Brian Murphy of the Beverly Club about his time as an active player. Wakefield Rotarian Alicia Reddin, who has been a Rotarian for about 2 months, stepped up and invited Ray to join Rotary! Ray concluded by acknowledging the efforts of Rotarians to better the lives of people everywhere. After speaking, he spent time signing auction items, chatting with attendees and taking pictures. The entire Conference and Assembly planning team would like to thank Rotarians and their guests for joining us and for making this evening so memorable.
