Marblehead Rotary Club Welcomes Don Dowling

Dowling was inducted into the club at its luncheon on Thursday, May 19, 2016. He is the owner/manager of Marblehead Collision.Dowling was born and raised in Saugus, Massachusetts and graduated from Saugus High School in 1998. Directly following high school years, Dowling joined his Dad in the auto body repair business. His father owned a local shop in Saugus and Dowling worked with his dad for nine years until his father retired and the business was ultimately sold. Dowling continued in the auto business and was hired to be an auto appraiser for variety of insurance firms as well as major dealerships.
Dowling and his wife Laney were married in 2012. She was born and raised in Avon Connecticut and she graduated from Bryant University in 2006. The Dowling’s have lived in Marblehead for three years and have one son, Bobby who is 2 ½ years old.
In 2011, after a few years doing appraisal-work, Dowling and his father decided to return to their roots and, together, they opened another auto body shop, but this time it was located in Marblehead. The shop, situated at 218 Beacon Street, is named - Marblehead Collision.
For recreation, the Dowling’s enjoy the Cape and Hampton Beach where each side of their extended families both maintain vacation homes. Dowling is a Bruins fan and he likes to fish when time permits. Enjoying family time time with their son is the the primary focus of the Dowling’s free time. Through his involvement with Rotary, Dowling hopes to extend his reach to help other children and their families to attain their goals and to value the times they have with each other.
