In keeping with the 2015-2016 Rotary theme of “Be a Gift to the World,” the Gloucester Rotary Club is pleased to announce that it has raised over $77,000 since July 2015 which it has awarded to many local and international non- profit organizations. Local groups were gifted $62,000, while international causes received $15,000. Local recipients include: ACS Relay for Life Cape Ann, Action, Inc., Backyard Growers, Band Stand Concert, Stage Fort Park Bandstand & Playground, Cape Ann Animal Aid, Cape Ann PMC Kid's Ride, Cape Ann Symphony, Cape Ann TV, Cape Ann YMCA, Care Dimensions Hospice, Fireworks, First R, Fishbox Derby, Fishermen's Memorial Service, Fishtown Horribles Parade, Friends of Seacoast Nursing, Friends of the Council on Aging, Generous Growers, GHS Drama Club, GHS Interact, GHS Track Meet, Gloucester City Hall Restoration, Gloucester Education Foundation, Gloucester Elementary School PTOs, Gloucester Fishermen Athletic Association, Gloucester Fund, Gloucester Rotary Foundation, Grace Center, Harborlight Community Partners, Harvest Meals, HAWC, Maritime Gloucester, Memorial Gifts, North Shore Health Project, Orlando Gift, PAARI, Pathways for Children, RYLA, Salem Rotary Club Holiday Party, Santa Parade, Santa's Magic, Sawyer Free Library Childrens Programs, Scholarships, SeniorCare, Seniors Holiday Gift Program, St. Vincent DePaul Society, The Hive Teen Artist Guild, The Open Door, United Way of North Shore, Veterans, and Wellspring.

Fundraisers included: the Pancake Breakfast, Comedy Show, Trivia Night, Cribbage Tournament, Polar Plunge, Night at the Races, and the annual calendar sale.
 
Rotary International focuses on six specific areas of need in the world which the Gloucester Rotary Club used as a standard for its annual giving. Peace and Conflict Prevention and Resolution, $3,000; Disease Prevention and Treatment, $8,000; Water and Sanitation, $3,000; Maternal and Child Health (the Gloucester Club expands its goals to health for all), $20,000; Basic Education and Literacy, $22,000; and Economic and Community Development, $21,000.
