The 2016 Rotary Eltham Festival on 12 &13 November and is truly a community event with the theme Celebrating Community - Supporting Local. Highlights include Have A Try oval on Sunday and a Tug of War grudge match, and the annual fireworks extravaganza on Saturday evening. Headline act on the Main Stage on Saturday evening is Santana tribute band Soul Sacrifice.
There are free rides, an animal farm and face painting for small kids, and a carnival for bigger ones. There will be over 150 stalls including food and wine, business, market and community displays.
New this year is the Dudley Dash Hillclimb on Saturday. Four stages of live music and entertainment will keep everyone in the family happy. The very young will love the magicians and clowns on Saturday, teens will love the FReeZA concert in Eltham Town Square or the Battle of the Bands on the Youth Stage. Proud parents will cheer on participants on the Community Stage on Sunday whilst an eclectic program of jazz, blues and rhythm on the Main Stage on Sunday will feature well known professional musicians.
As usual there will be a display of local artwork in Eltham library as part of the Open Studios program and the Eltham and District Woodworkers will hold their annual exhibition in St Margaret's Church on both days of the festival. In the lead-up to the festival, the Eltham Chamber of Commerce is running a shopper loyalty program with a cruise for two being the fabulous prize. The winner will be drawn at the festival on Sunday 13 November.
