October 24, 2018 - World Polio Day In Durham Region

In Durham College's New Centre for Collaborative Education

In the Global Classroom

THE PLAN: (work in progress)

Ron Dick, President of the Rotary Club of Oshawa has been working diligently for many months to encourage the Rotary Clubs of Durham Region and beyond to make their donations and pledges so that the new Golbal Classroom may be named the Rotary Global Classroom.

We are asking all 10 Rotary Clubs in Durham Region to cancel the weekly meetings this week and instead, attend, with their spouses, this World Polio Day Event in the new Global Classroom, in the new Centre for Collaborative Education Building at Durham College, 2000 Simcoe St. N., Oshawa, ON, Canada L1G 0C5 .

The event, hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Oshawa and Oshawa-Parkwood, will run from 5 pm to about 9 pm.

There will be a 45 minutes reception from 5:00 pm to 5:45 pm and there will be a cash bar. This will be an opportunity to visit with fellow Rotarians and share with them our great desire to eradicate polio from the world. Hors d'oeuvres will be served. Cost of the event will be $25.00 per person and a portion of the ticket price will be a donation to the Rotary Foundations' End Polio Campaign. That portion, going to The Rotary Foundation, will be credited to each Rotarian's next Paul Harris Award.

The capacity will be 200 and it will be on a first come first served registration, on the District website, under the event for October 24 - World Polio Day 2018 in Durham Region .

The Global Classroom has the ability to receive and send out the Rotary live-stream feed (from 6 pm to 6:45 pm) featuring Rotarians and their Global Polio Eradication initiative Partners (as we have done for the last few years).
