The Rotary Club of Oshawa-Parkwood members sure believe in the value and importance of The Rotary Foundation. At the May 29, 2018 Annual Paul Harris Awards Night, we celebrated the donations as 30% of our club reached significant levels of achievement in their givings to The Rotary Foundation: 2 new members became Benefactors, 6 members reached their first, second and fifth Paul Haris Award levels, and president Ted Morrison and Sharron became Major Gifts Donors......

In total, from a club of 31 members: we have 20 current active members with various levels of Paul Harris Awards, 3 Rotarians and their spouses are Major Gifts Donors and one Rotarian and spouse are members of the Arch Klumph Society.

Past District Governor and the Chair of District 7070 Rotary Foundation Committee was on hand and spoke to the club and helped present all of the awards. PDG Michale Bell talked about the Big Picture of The Rotary Foundation and all of the Good Work being done because of the humanitarian Grants that assist Rotary clubs worldwide to really make a Difference to so many, including the work in eradication Polio. He talked about our RRSP - registered Rotary Support Plan and Rotary Direct and how easy it is to have a few dollars taken directly from your bank account on a monthly basis. It adds up quickly (and of course, it is tax deductible).

He also talked about District 7070 , being consistent leaders in givings to The Rotary Foundation for many years. He remarked that District 7070 will be very close to $710,000 US in donations to the Rotary Foundation in the 2017-18 Rotary year. Thanks to clubs and club members like us.

He reminded us all to try to reach our goal of donating $100 US per member to the Annual Programs Fund and $20 US per member to the PolioPlus Fund, every year.
