Dear Fellow Rotarians and the entire Rotary Family,

Your Rotary remains committed to Service. Over the past few years I have enjoyed compiling and sending these LitRAG Newsletters every two months out to you and our great group of friends in Rotary who support basic education and the encouragement of literacy in all communities. For most of that time my close friend, Bernard Pryor, OAM has given outstanding support to me - collating and then finishing off the documents with artistic style. Bernard is not a Rotarian, he was a Rotaractor - but he is now a Paul Harris Fellow. On behalf of all of us, Bernard, a very genuine "thank you" as we complete this last LitRAG Newsletter together. We know the new Editor will do a great job......

Throughout the world there have been challenges with COVID-19. I personally trust you and your close family and friends are OK. Please take care and look after yourself and others in the full spirit of Rotary Service. We need each other to be healthy to continue 'doing good in the world'.

Here is the ---> May 2020 Newsletter.

Please read the Newsletter as quite a lot of work has been inserted for your use, for instance:

  • Great ideas and the importance of reading aloud

  • Mention of International Literacy Day on 8 September, 2020 ... what will you do?

  • Previous summaries of wonderful literacy work from around the Rotary world

  • Win US $400 for your club

  • Very useful Handouts for parents and others

  • Facebook and videos

So in the Newsletter you can certainly find useful and practical ideas for yourself - but please share the Newsletter across your home club or even the Rotary District.

.....................
We all know how and why words are so important. I do hope you have taken the effort to say "thank you" to those workers in the health industry who have given so much across the globe for all of us.

All the very best. In Rotary Service.
On any matter at any time, please write to me - rotary.tas@gmail.com.

..........
