Let's Support Basic Education and Literacy All Year Round
Although September is Basic Education & Literacy Month, let's support this important Area of Focus ed throughout the year as we build awareness and support the different aspects of solving the challenges of literacy for all.
October, too, is also the perfect time for your club to become aware of the education needs in your community or to learn about projects around the world where Rotarians are making a difference through education and literacy projects.
In the recent addition of the Rotary Magazine (September), we learned of the literacy project in Guatemala – the gift of reading.
What can your club do?
The Basic Education and Literacy Committee of D7070 is ready to help Rotary and Rotaract clubs in District 7070.
Remember too, it is important to keep us informed of projects you are doing. Clubs can and should work together, especially, on larger projects.
