Every year, Clubs that want to participate in the Rotary Foundation Grants Program must be qualified. For the 2019-20 Rotary year, District 7070 has decided to replace the Rotary Foundation Grants Qualification Seminar, normally held a Saturday in February, as we GO ON LINE TO QUALIFY YOUR ROTARY CLUB. Read more for all of the details and in important update from Lars Henrikkson.......

Grant Management Up-date

The on-line training modules for Grant Qualification have unfortunately been somewhat delayed.  The three modules, The Rotary Foundation, Global
Grants and District Grants as well as three Qualification Quizzes, were supposed to be posted on the www.rotary7070.org by now.   We expect them
to be on the site within the next two weeks.

The application form for District Grants in the 2019-20 Rotary year will be posted immediately.  The rules are the same as for the current year.
Clubs can download the form and start working on their applications. Dead-line for submitting applications is May 31, 2019.  Clubs applying
for a District Grant for 2019-20 must be qualified by May 31, 2019.

Effective immediately, Clubs requesting DDF (District Designated Funds) to match Club cash contributions for Global Grant projects must fill out
a request form, which is posted on the District's website, www.rotary7070.org.  Projects, where the lead Club in D7070, be it as Host or International Partner in the Global Grant project, has not provided a request form to the District, will not receive any DDF matching.

The Rotary Foundation requires Clubs that want to participate in its Grants Program must be qualified.  To become qualified, Clubs must to the following

  • have at least two of its members complete training, arranged by the District, and

  • sign a Memorandum Of Understanding – MOU – with the District.

The qualification is valid for one year.  Again, a requirement by the Rotary Foundation.

In order to make it easier for more Rotarians to learn about the Rotary Foundation and its Grants Program, District 7070 is replacing the traditional half-day Seminar, usually held in February, with on-line training.  The training will consist of three modules, each followed by a quiz.  The three modules, each about 15 minutes in length, are

  • module 1 – The Rotary Foundation

  • module 2 – Global Grants, and

  • module 3 – District Grants

The quizzes after each module will consist of ten questions.  Seven of the ten questions must be answered correctly to pass.  Once a Rotarian has completed all three modules and passed the three quizzes, s/he is qualified.  When at least two Club members are qualified, and the Club has signed the MOU, the Club is qualified and can participate in the Grants program.

The lead Club in District and Global Grant projects must be qualified.  It is recommended that at least one of the three project committee members of the lead Club has completed the training.

Clubs, that are not qualified, can still support and contribute to projects.  It is mandatory, that  Clubs are qualified before they start a District or Global Grant application.

The training modules, quizzes and MOU will be available on District 7070’s website, www.rotary7070.org.  Qualified Clubs will also be listed on the website.  In addition, Clubs will be notified once they have met the criteria for qualification.

The modules are expected to be available on the website very soon.
