September is here! Can you believe we are two months into the year?
September is Rotary International’s Basic Education and Literacy Month. Rotary’s goal is to empower communities to support basic education and Literacy, reduce gender disparity in education and increase adult literacy.
World Literacy Day is coming up on September 8. Literacy Day serves as a reminder of the Importance of Literacy for individuals and society.
More than 775 million people over the age of 15 are illiterate. That’s 17 percent of the world’s adult population.
Our goal is to strengthen the capacity of communities to support basic education and literacy, reduce gender disparity in education, and increase adult literacy. We support education for all children and literacy for children and adults.
Rotary clubs all over the world are taking action to enhance basic education and literacy in their communities. Every community has different needs and different opportunities for service.

Our annual Foundation Walk is not far away, this is a family event, bring friends, and let’s come together to support our Foundation. The Rotary Foundation is Our Charity! Our target for donations to the Rotary Foundation from our District 7070 clubs and members, this year, is $1.17 million CDN (to celebrate Rotary's 117 years). Please get your club signed up today!
