Good Things Happen When We Get Together!

There's power in numbers. There's also fun, fellowship, and fabulous ideas.

The Presidents-Elect (PEs) of District 7070 have been busy preparing for the new Rotary year that begins on 1 July 2018. This started with Presidents-Elect Training (PETS) in Oshawa and continued with MDPETS in March. At this training event, we got together with PEs, DGEs & Trainers from Districts 7080 and 7090 to learn, share, and exchange ideas. And 23 PEs continued the fun with a trip to Evanston to visit the headquarters of Rotary International. Guess who we met there?

RI President-Elect Barry Rassin himself greeted us as we stood in the lobby of RI Headquarters waiting for Sofia Martin, our fabulous program guide for the day-long visit. Then he asked if he could join in on one of our sessions! He met up with us later in the day and spent time answering questions and posing for the Rotary paparazzi, showing us how to Be The Inspiration, both within our Rotary family and in our communities.

Soon, it will be your chance to get together to learn, share, and have some fun.

Please register ASAP for our District Assembly on Saturday, May 12. This interactive day will leave you energized and ready for even more Service Above Self! Come with your ideas, your questions, and your Rotary friends. Dare I suggest that you cancel a regular meeting in May and come to the District Assembly instead?

Of course, another once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get together with our incredible international Rotary Family will be the Rotary International Convention in Toronto at the end of June. Thank you to everyone who has registered so far, signed up to volunteer, and offered to host a dinner for our visitors! I'll add a personal commercial for the Zone 24 & 32 Beyond Borders Dinner on Sunday, June 24 at the Hockey Hall of Fame. This event is for everyone in Zones 24 (that's us!) and 32. You don't have to be registered for the Convention to attend.

Lastly, be sure to register ASAP for our own family gathering, the District 7070 Conference on 27 October 2018 in Wellington, Prince Edward County. The amazing DC18 Planning Team is dreaming up kinds of adventures for you in this day-long Rotary Reunion. At $99 for the whole day, including three delicious meals and an inspiring program, you won't want to miss it. Space is limited, so don't delay. Register today!
