Dear Fellow Rotarians,

There is no better time than now, to ask all Rotarians to think about supporting our Rotary Foundation. Your contribution of any amount will be making a positive difference in so many ways at home and abroad. Rotarians do make the world a better place in which to live. Has your Rotary Club committed, once again this Rotary year, their support to contribute $20.00 per member for PolioPlus Program and $100.00 per member to the Annual Programs Fund? Has your club entered these goals into Rotary Club Central or given them to Past District Governor Ted Morrison at ted.sharron@rogers.com for the 2017-18 Rotary Year? If not, then please make certain that these goals are entered before the end of November, Foundation Month in Rotary......

Again this year, your contributions to the PolioPlus Program will be matched on a 2 for 1 basis by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. As of this writing, there have been only 12 cases of the wild polio virus worldwide compared to 27 cases at this time last year. Yes, we are this close! You are making the difference!

Our Rotary Foundation provides the money for our Grants Program. These funds come from our donations to the Annual Programs Fund. Your Grants can be used for both local and international projects. It is interesting to note that there are more clubs applying for Grants than we have funds to fully match. This is most encouraging, however, to meet this increased demand it means that we need to raise more money for the Annual Programs Fund each year. Your club and personal donations will help to make that happen.

Are there any prospective Major Donors in the District? Please advise Past District Governor Bill Patchett or myself if you or someone that you know wishes to consider taking the next step to support our Rotary Foundation.

My thanks to each and every one of you, once again, for your financial support and for all that you do for Rotary and District 7070.

Michael
