Tom Hardy served as District Governor of Rotary International District 5260 during its final year of operation in 2011-2012. On July 1, 2012, Tom and the Rotary Club of Bishop Sunrise were redistricted into District 5190 (along with the Rotary Clubs of Bishop, Mammoth Lakes, and Mammoth Lakes Sunrise).

Raised in Bishop, Tom has been a member of the Rotary Club of Bishop Sunrise since 2005, and was its President in 2007-08, leading the club to an RI Presidential Citation, District awards in all the Avenues of Service (including first place in total program for Club Service, and second place in total program for Youth Service) and the “Silver Bell” as the outstanding medium-sized club in District 5260. He was also selected as District 5260 co-President of the Year. He then served District 5260 as an Assistant Governor in 2009-10, and as the Executive Assistant Governor for Operations and Training in 2010-11.
 
Since joining District 5190, Tom has remained very active, helping as Public Image Chair in 2012-13 and District Conference Chair in 2015.  He has also enjoyed serving as a facilitator at District Training Assembly and other District training events.
 
Tom and his wife Nancy are Major Donors and Bequest Society members.  Tom is a member of the Paul Harris Society.
 
In September, 2013, Tom as appointed by the Inyo County Board of Supervisors to fill the unexpired term of the retiring District Attorney.  He was elected to the post in 2014 and is honored to spend his professional time serving the citizens of Inyo County and the State of California.
 
When not working or helping with Rotary, he enjoys hiking, cooking and gardening.  Nancy is a retired school teacher and not retired professional pet dog trainer—so he also loves to help out with the current “pack” of Hardy dogs.
