Paul Lumos became a member of the Rotary Club of Fallon NV in 1969 and served as the Club Secretary-Treasurer before moving to the Rotary Club of Carson City NV where he served on the Board of Directors in various capacities and served as Club President in 1982-83.

His District service began as an Area Representative 1983-84 and he continued to serve as District Club Service Chair, Assistant Governor, Property Manager, PETS Sergeant of Arms, District Conference Program Chair and Aide to RI Presidents Representative.

Paul served as District Governor in 2002-03 and has since continued to serve the district in various capacities. He founded the District Paul Harris Society in 2003 and chaired it from 2004-2007. He was chair of the District foundation committee 2006-09 and chaired the District Foundation Seminar 2006-08. He is a continuing member of the district PDG Advisory committee and served on the District Finance committee 2003-05, 09,10. He was appointed vice chair in 2009. He was a member of the District Governor selection Committee2003-07 and chaired it in 07. He was a trainer at District Assembly 2007-08.

Paul served on the committee for the Districts first successful million dollar bequest campaign in 2008. He was a presenter at the Far West PETS 2004 and has served as Treasurer since that time and added the duty of registrar in 2009.

Paul has served at the Zone level as Treasurer of the Zone Institute 2005, 06, 07 and as chair of the Zone Directory 2009 and 2010. He is also serving as chair of the evaluation committee for the Zone Institute 2010. Paul sat on the Zone 23 Director nominating committee in 2007 when John Blount was selected. He was Regional Major Gift Advisor for Zone 23 for 2006, 07 under John Rasmussen. Paul was the District 5190 delegate to the 2010 Council on Legislation in Chicago.

Paul is a member of the Paul Harris Society and is a major donor. He was presented the Citation for Meritorious Service from the Rotary Foundation. He and Joy are level 4 bequest Society members.

Paul attended the University of Nevada where he received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in1965. He was a registered professional Civil Engineer in Nevada, California and Arizona. His business career included nine years as Public Works Director, City Engineer and Assistant City Manager culminating in the creation of Lumos and Associates Inc. in 1978, a firm providing Civil Engineering services. He was President of Lumos and Associates until 1998 when he sold his interest in the firm and retired. He and his wife Joy, a native of New Zealand, have three children and five grandchildren.

His professional affiliations included serving as the State President of the American Public Works Association where he was selected Businessman of the Year for the State of Nevada. State President of the National Society of Professional Engineers where he was presented the Distinguished Service Award for the State and he served as the President of the Carson City Chapter of The American Society of Civil Engineers.

Paul Has been active in civic activities including President of Babe Ruth Baseball, Instructor Junior Ski Program, Board of Chamber of Commerce, Board of Northern Nevada Development authority, Chairman of Credit Union Audit Committee, member University of Nevada College of Engineering Advisory Committee, Board of Douglas County Business Council. Paul is a private pilot, enjoys golf, woodworking and wood carving."
