Virus (Club Nickname) hails from Maine and spent her early years living in 4 different states, finally returning back to ME. She graduated from the University of Chicago with a major in theatre/drama and a minor in French Literature.

Gail became interested in the problem solving associated with the new field of Computer Security and spent the better part of 25 years consulting in that area for firms including Booz, Allen & Hamilton, Inc., Ernst & Young LLC, an internet startup in the golf world (as Director of Technology), and finally finishing her career with Capital One. Her manager brand statement was: Empower my team by providing valuable feedback, efficient management, caring support, and refreshingly clear advice.

Upon retiring to Loyalton, CA, the hometown of her husband, Dan (Xman), they opened and ran Blue Moon Bakery for 2 years. Dan worked for the Central Intelligence Agency for 25 years and returned to consulting for them after they sold the bakery. Gail wrote a bi-weekly column for the Sierra Booster from 2009-2013, served on the Pastoral Council at Holy Family Catholic Parish in Portola, CA and co-founded a Prayer Shawl Ministry.

Gail and Dan joined the Rotary Club of Loyalton in 2004 and she admits that she has been a Rotary “junkie” ever since. Gail served as President of the club in 2007-2008. She has also served as RYE counselor, RYLA counselor, Program Chair, and newsletter editor. At the District level, she served as Visioning Committee Chair from 2010-2014, as Assistant Governor for Area 2 from 2010-2013, as District Trainer, and on the Technology Committee assisting in the evaluation and selection of the District’s cloud-based storage system. Dan is also a member of the Rotary Club of Loyalton and has served as the Foundation Chair.

Gail and Dan have 2 children, 3 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews whom they are blessed to call family.
 
Gail and Dan, cuurently members of the Rotary Club of Smith Valley, have been married since 1986 and are Paul Harris Fellows, Major Donors, members of the Bequest Society, and the Paul Harris Society of the Rotary Foundation.
