International Theme: “Lend a Hand ”
Bob Hartsfield moved to North Lake Tahoe in May, 1998 after retiring from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). After a short experience in banking and being controller of a small company, he spent 30 years as Assistant Controller with Caltech responsible for their Federal Research funding including JPL (Jet Propulsion Libratory). Since moving to Tahoe, Bob has been involved in many community activities including Sierra Senior Services, North Lake Tahoe Historical Society, NTPUD Parks and Recreation Commission, TCPUD’s Rideout Community Center, Chair of the oversight committees for the Tahoe campus of the Sierra College and the TTSD North Tahoe High School.
He has been a member of Rotary for over 40 years, serving as President of both the South Pasadena and Tahoe City Rotary Clubs. He was District Governor in 2003-04 under RI President Jonathan Majiyagbe. The RI theme for the year was Lend a Hand and the District theme was Lead the Way. Bob continues participating on District committees and has participated in many humanitarian and health related projects in several third world countries."
