Take the Woodville Wanderer through the Manawatu Gorge and view its magnificence from the safety of the railway track. On the other side you will see the area at the southern end that has resulted in the Manawatu Gorge being closed to road traffic.

The Manawatu Standard reported on 14 September 2017 that the slip was 170 times bigger than the 2011 one that closed the Gorge for a year.
Once through the Gorge it’s on to Woodville where buses will take you (no charge) into the township where you will find all businesses and cafes open, most with special offers.
You will receive an information pack on the train from Woodville Ambassadors who will tell you about their great little town.
