Whanganui Daybreak meeting on the 17/06/19 was a meeting for the ages this morning; the YOUNG ages!

After two years as an associate member, Rochelle Howard was inducted as a full member of the Club. Rochelle already holds a Paul Harris Fellowship for her work with SHINE Interact Club, and their relationship with Daybreak will only get stronger. Rochelle becomes our youngest member, dropping the average age of the membership!

Then the King children addressed us. Alex talked about what Rotary means to him, and how much enjoyment he gets from taking part in Club activities. He is looking forward to the formation of a RotaKids Club, to run alongside Daybreak.

Mollie is a talented young sportswoman. She takes part in swimming, karate, football, hockey and futsal. However she has recently discovered weightlifting, and her ambition is to represent New Zealand in a sport where she is already competing strongly against girls several years older than her!

Lastly Sophie talked about her role as part of the student leadership team at St Anne's School, and the variety of activities she is required to carry out, in addition to her studies and sport. She is off the Whanganui Girls' College next year, which is great news for SHINE.

We also welcomed intending member Jo, and her son Connor, who we hope is inspired to join RotaKids. RYE student Steve also joined us for his final Club meeting; he will give his farewell presentation at our end-of-year function on Saturday night.

We may be small in numbers, but the spirit is strong!
