Happy Holidays to all!!  Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa, its the season of family, friends and giving.  This truly is a time to be a Gift to the World.  If you have someone on your list that you just can't figure out what to give them this year, please consider making a donation to the Rotary Foundation in their name.  Let's remember our brothers and sisters around the World that are not as blessed as we this season.

We are approaching the middle of our Rotary year.  I hope you are making progress on your goals for this year and am wishing you a very successful New Year.

Some good news to pass along!!  The Rio Grande Valley Shoe Project has been selected by Rotary International to feature on the Rotary Showcase.  Check it out on the Rotary website, Rotary.org.  Congratulations to all those clubs who have participated in this project and helped to show the world the good things that we are doing in our District.

We have some events coming up shortly that you need to put on your calendar - January 6, 2016 we will be holding Grant Certification Training in Victoria at the Victoria Country Club from 6-9 p.m.  On January 23, 2016, the annual Rotary Foundation Dinner will be held in McAllen at the Doubletree Hotel.  Check the website for registration information for these events.  Please keep in mind that the 4 Way Speech contest is coming up fast and you need to let your students know so they can be prepared.  Check with your local Assistant Governors to determine your Area contest so your club contests can be scheduled accordingly.

In January, we will be sending out information regarding selection of the District Governor for 2018-2019.  Please be thinking about someone to fill this position.  Whether this is something that you are interested in or you know the "perfect" person in your club that might be interested in working for Rotary at a higher level, please give this some consideration.   Further information about this position will be sent out after the holidays. Interviews will be held in March.
